We are now looking to hire a skilled and motivated Principal Scientist in Formulation Design at our Oral Product Development site in Gothenburg, Sweden.
What you’ll do
As a Principal Scientist, you will engage with key internal and external stakeholders to provide scientific leadership and drive innovation. You will be at the forefront of product design and digital transformation within Oral Product Development, turning ideas into life-changing medicines for patients. Your role will involve providing scientific leadership in Formulation Science, designing and developing sustainable formulations for our clinical trials and commercial products, leading small teams of people in a multi-skilled environment and playing a critical role in defining the scientific strategy of the function, focusing on oral solid dosage formulations.
Essential Skills/Experience
Strong scientific background, ideally holding a PhD in fields such as pharmaceutics, chemical engineering or related subject areas.
Solid understanding of physicochemical principles crucial for the design and development of immediate and controlled release pharmaceutical products.
Proven experience in developing clinical and commercial solid oral dosage formulations and processes.
Skilled in formulation platforms such as immediate release, modified release and pediatric.
Demonstrated application of modeling and simulation to enhance value in pharmaceutical drug product development and manufacturing.
Scientific leadership and evidence of public scientific communication including journal publications.
Good understanding of emerging science that can impact the business.
Project management and leadership experience.
Experience of authoring regulatory documents
Strong leadership skills expressed through strategic thinking, change management and people development.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to engage and collaborate across boundaries, displaying a problem-solving mindset and a focus on delivering results.
Proficiency in influencing and stakeholder management.
Proficient in both written and spoken English.
Cultural awareness.
