We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Group Financial Control to lead the team responsible for group consolidation, internal control framework (ICFR), accounting policies, as well as Financial Control for the parent company. As a financial steward of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate reporting for the group.
You will be leading an experienced team of about 10. You will be a member of Finance Operations leadership team and report directly to Head of Finance Operations, Sara Bergek. The position is located in Solna, Sweden.

As the Head of Group Financial Control at Telia, you will have several key responsibilities:
You'll be responsible for managing and guiding a team of Financial Controllers. This involves overseeing their daily operational tasks as well as providing strategic direction for more complex matters.
You'll be at the helm of consolidating financial data across the entire Telia Group. This includes both legal and operational aspects, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards. You'll handle the financial components of Telia's quarterly reports and annual reports.
Managing the consolidation system is another critical responsibility by oversee its operation, maintenance, and optimization to ensure efficient data and work processing. You'll be the point person for dialogue with external auditors. This involves coordinating audit processes, addressing queries, and ensuring compliance with auditing standards.
Implementing and maintaining internal controls is essential for risk management. Your role includes overseeing these controls to safeguard Telia's financial integrity. You'll contribute to shaping accounting policies and guidelines for the entire Telia Group.
You'll head the Record to Report process within Telia. This forum focuses on streamlining financial processes, improving efficiency, and enhancing reporting quality.

You bring a demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively which includes understanding leadership principles, motivating team members, and fostering a positive work environment. You have a holistic view with attention to details and ability to work under pressure. We value individuals who can think critically, and challenge established norms, and you should be able to convey ideas clearly, listen actively, and build strong relationships with peers and stakeholders.
We expect you to have:
- Master of Science in Business and Economics or similar
- 10+ years of relevant working experience such as accounting, Financial Control, group accounting/consolidation and financial reporting
- Deep understanding of the link between Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
- Interest in systems and driving process efficiencies
- Knowledge of tax reporting
- Background from large international listed companies, telecom industry experience is an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years management experience
- Fully proficient written and verbal English communication skills, Swedish language skills are great advantage
