Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Marketing & Sales Manager to lead its Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) marketing and sales activities. Saab, originally as Sensis Corporation, has been working with the FAA on airport safety and other initiatives for nearly 30 years. We are an FAA prime contractor (e.g., ASDE-X, ASSC, and RWSL) as well as major subcontractor (e.g., TFDM and FENS), providing surveillance sensors, air traffic control systems, and enterprise software. Saab’s solutions play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the U.S. national airspace system.
 

As Saab’s FAA Marketing & Sales (M&S) Lead, you will be responsible for growing Saab’s FAA project portfolio. You will lead all of the external and internal activities needed to promote Saab and identify, develop, and capture new FAA business. 
 

This may be a remote position with 2 regional activity centers: Syracuse, NY (Saab HQ) and Washington, D.C. (FAA HQ)

Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive FAA and partner relationships

  • Negotiate new partnerships and teaming agreements

  • Discover and review information about FAA goals, future program plans, and budget to identify sales opportunities that are consistent with Saab’s capabilities and aspirations

  • Monitor the competitive space to identify opportunities and threats

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive FAA M&S strategy and opportunity-specific capture plans

  • Serve as the primary internal champion for Saab’s FAA business, promoting opportunities and garnering support from across the organization

  • Guide internal, cross-functional teams on FAA bid and proposal efforts by laying out the vision, writing key sections, shaping contributions, and continuously coaching team members to develop winning submissions

  • Promote Saab’s capabilities externally at customer meetings, partner meetings, industry events, tradeshows, and conferences

  • Work with internal team members to generate marketing material such as press releases, advertising media, and other marketing collateral

  • Follow Saab’s progress executing existing FAA programs to uncover follow-on opportunities and advise the team on issues impacting the M&S strategy

  • Track and document sales activities

  • Continuously improve through feedback

Compensation Range: $154,300-$204,500

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Education/Experience

  • BA/BS degree in marketing, business, or related engineering discipline

  • 15+ years of experience

  • Experience working with and selling to the FAA

  • Demonstrated track record leading multi-million dollar business capture efforts

  • Advanced knowledge of capture/business strategy

Other Requirements

  • Energetic self-starter

  • Effective and engaging presenter

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% in support of business development efforts
