About the Team:
We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee all building-related activities. This position is responsible for the infrastructure and ensures that the facility, labs, and office space are well-functioning. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. Leadership abilities and phenomenal efficiency can set you apart among our candidate pool. The goal is to ensure our facility is problem-free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions.
What you can look forward to as a Facility Manager:
- Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments
- Manage the upkeep of equipment, building, and systems to meet all applicable standards
- Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
- Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs
- Supervise one direct report: Administrative Assistant I, oversee all facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external contractors
- Control activities i.e. parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security, etc.
- Coordinate/facilitate building events, tours, i.e. customer visits, employee events, new employee onboarding, etc.
- Manage office space allocations in tandem with leadership requirements
- Keep financial and non-financial records; prepare operating reports and budgets
- Perform analysis and forecasting
- Cost estimates for moves and equipment
- Comply with all applicable legislation requirements
Your profile as a Facility Manager
- Bachelor degree in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field
- 5+ years progressive experience as a Facility Manager or relevant position
- Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
- Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
- The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be a problem-solver
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift 30 to 50 pounds
- Computer skills; may include scheduling with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
