We are now looking for a Director of Business Development!
As Director Business Development you are responsible for maximizing the revenue and margins for BA Paperboard by leading and managing the Brand Owner Management (BOM) team to secure signed brand owner contracts in accordance with the Billerud Commercial strategy. The Business Area is divided into two segments, Containerboard and Cartonboard, which both have a growth strategy. Cartonboard is aiming for volume growth, whereas containerboard is more focused on value growth. In your role you will contribute to the growth agenda as well as harness and develop synergies which emerge between the two segments. Your responsibilities will also include formulating strategy and coaching in order to develop and create more value from the BOM team's activities.
As Director Business Development you will report to VP BA Paperboard, Armin Van Overbeek. The role is placed at either Billerud head office in Solna or at one of the Billerud offices in Europe.
Your main tasks will be:
  • Manage and follow up the BOM team to develop a continuous pipeline of sufficient brand owner projects to deliver on the target of invoiced volume from new contracts.
  • Be a role model in terms of leadership. Provide support and guidance to the BOM team by ensuring a safe work environment, driving change and performance, and unlocking potential in the team.
  • Personally develop a selected number of key BO projects and negotiate them to achieve signed contracts.
  • Align with product management to secure appropriate profit margin and volume steering.
  • Lead the coordination with the North American BOM team in case of global brand coverage.
  • Manage a close cooperation between the BOM team and the converter sales team to secure the supply chain for signed brand owner contracts.
  • Lead the cooperation with Application development labs to prove the value prop content for prioritized brand owner projects.
  • Contribute pro-actively to all topics addressed in the Paperboard Management Team and contribute with value to an overall Billerud perspective

Qualifications
To succeed in this position, we believe you have:
  • Minimum 10 years international sales/Business Development in B2B or FMCG.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience of leading a sales/Business Development team.
  • Experience in dealing with and influencing all levels of management.
  • Good negotiator in commercial discussions.
  • Proven strong track record of stakeholder management and managing change in cross-divisional organizations.
  • Experience within pulp/paper/packaging is an advantage but not a must.
  • University degree (or equal) in business administration, Sales and Marketing.
  • Fluent in English (and preferably a 2nd major European language, and/or Swedish).
