We are seeking a Business Planning and Operations Manager to join our Medical Affairs Team in the Oncology and Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit. This newly formed position is accountable for leading the implementation of strategic priorities as well as the broader business agenda of the Medical Regulatory Leadership Team (MRLT). You will help the organization to convert strategy into operational execution, holding medical function and leaders across countries accountable for delivery of scorecard, capability uplifts and strategic priorities.

What you will do

In this role, you will ensure that the transformation agenda within the Nordic strategy is the red thread in MRLT meetings, across Medical communications and events. This includes setting and chairing MRLT meetings, leading the Nordic medical annual activity planning calendar, and acting as the medical project manager for strategic projects and priorities critical to our overarching Nordic medical agenda. You will also facilitate and develop the Nordic Medical strategy in collaboration with the MRLT and the Medical & Regulatory Affairs Director, manage effective communication within Medical Affairs and beyond, and lead the Nordic Medical scorecard process.

The role holder reports to the Nordic & Sweden Medical & Regulatory Affairs Director, but you are working closely and aligned with the country medical directors, Therapeutic Areas Leads as well as country field medical teams and cross functional teams as applicable.  Business travels can be required across the Nordics. The preferred location is Stockholm office.

What we need from you

• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Biomedicine or other science degree

• 3+ years business experience, preferably from the Medical Affairs part or business development within pharmaceutical industry.

• Proven decision making ability based on business insight and analytics

• Understanding of the health care and life sciences environment in the Nordics including external trends

• Excellent communication, visualization and presentation skills, proficient in both written and spoken English.

• Experience from influencing  cross functions and countries in a matrix organization.

• Proven experience of budget management and deliverables within set timelines  

You proactively identify business strategy opportunities within Medical Affairs to drive value – in the right way and successfully lead communications within the business in a compelling way, influencing to achieve consensus. You are able to drive and lead change to ways of working. In order to achieve this, you will not only build strong relationships with senior leaders within AZ both within and outside of the Marketing Company, but also mentor and act as a role model for the teams around you.
