Description of the workplaceAt the Division of Social Medicine and Global Health (SMGH), we work on questions related to global public health through education, research, and capacity development in collaboration with the global community. The division is located at the Department of Clinical Sciences in Malmö and is led by Professor Anette Agardh. The division consists of both researchers/teachers and administrative staff.

We are now looking for an assistant researcher for a permanent, full-time position.

Work duties and responsibilitiesWork duties will include:
  • Teaching qualitative research methods and systematic reviews in the Masters' program in public health.
  • Project coordination of a multidisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration network focusing on pandemics and preparedness
  • Project coordination/management within the area of migration and heath
  • Qualitative and quantitative research within migration and health, health communication and risk communication
  • Supervision of master's students and doctoral students

Other tasks within the research group may also be required. These tasks may involve some international travel, as required by the project.
Qualifications
The employment requires:
  • PhD in public health with a focus on migration and health
  • Experience of teaching in an international educational environment
  • Experience of teaching qualitative research methods in public health at advanced level
  • Experience of research within the area of migration and health, health communication, and risk communication in relation to global health crisis
  • Experience of project coordination and project management related to health communication.
  • Profound knowledge and experience with qualitative research method
  • Very good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English

Strong emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. The tasks require that you have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team. Furthermore, you should find it rewarding and interesting to work in a multicultural environment and with international partners.
Preferred qualifications are:
  • Experience of working in a multicultural environment
  • Experience of collaboration with actors within educational institutions, authorities, and public bodies
  • Experience of collaboration within national and international research networks

Consideration will also be given to how the applicant, through experience and competence, is deemed to supplement and strengthen ongoing research within the research groups and contribute to their future development.
Terms of employmentThe employment is a permanent, full-time position. Start date is 2024-04-15 or as agreed.
The main rule is that employment at Lund University is conducted in Sweden, you are therefore expected to be able to carry out your work on site in Malmö.
