About the role
You will work closely with the UX Research Lead in driving strategic and tactical user research efforts within If's private business area, where your work will focus on supporting Digital Sales and Product Development. You will be responsible for leading and executing user research initiatives, and empowering insights-driven decision-making within this area.

About the team
You will become a member of the Research and Service Design Chapter, which is part of a large and diverse design community at If, filled with creative, competent, and friendly colleagues spread across the Nordics and Baltics. You will work within If's Research and Design Center of Excellence (RDC), collaborating closely with RDC's other researchers and service designers.
You will...
- Lead Research Projects: You will be responsible for leading research projects from start to finish. This involves managing the project timeline, identifying key stakeholders, defining the project scope, conducting research, delivering actionable insights, and concept development (when required).
- Conduct Research: You will be responsible for conducting research to understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points. This could include customer interviews, surveys, or observational studies.
- Analyze Data: Once data has been collected, you analyze it to uncover insights and patterns. This often involves both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Develop Strategy and Concepts: Based on research and data analysis, you identify opportunities and develop strategic recommendations to support customer needs and solve business problems. This could include creating journey maps, and some concept development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and experts to ensure that your work creates actionable insights for the projects and different teams. You will support an effective handover to relevant stakeholders.
Who are you?
We are looking for an individual who has significant experience with conducting user research and delivering high-quality insights that can be used to support business strategy and service development. You could be a senior UX researcher with some experience with Service Design, or a Service Designer with a lot of research experience, as long as you always strive to deliver a deep understanding of users grounded in business context to your stakeholders.
You also have:
• Minimum of 5 years experience working as a UX researcher or service designer in in-house or consulting roles.
• Deep knowledge and experience in user research, with significant expertise across several research methodologies
• At least 3 years of experience planning and leading qualitative research projects. Comfortable working independently and driving research initiatives.
• Formal education (BA or MA) within Design, Psychology, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and experience collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Experience conducting research to support business strategy and experience with the Jobs-to-be-done research framework is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, for presenting facts, thoughts, and ideas in English (we work across the Nordics). Fluency in a Nordic language will be considered a plus (especially Finnish).
• The possibility to travel if needed.
