Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What You Will Work On:
Prepare and review client structural design philosophy, ensuring implementation in the design process.
Coordinate and gather structural design requirements from multiple disciplines.
Ensure effective coordination between internal/external stakeholders and design consultants.
Guarantee compliance with environmental requirements throughout the design process.
Independently carry out conceptual design to effectively communicate design intent when required.
Prepare design tasks and review foundations, steel, and concrete structural design for main buildings and multidiscipline support design.
Review process/equipment supplier's documentation.
Participate in inter-disciplinary BIM/model reviews and 2D drawing reviews.
Attend and contribute to design meetings.
Control material quantities and oversee the timely, safe, and efficient delivery of design consultants' deliverables.
Resolve technical queries from contractors during various project phases.
Provide technical support to procurement, commercial, construction, and commissioning teams.
Create and review structural maintenance/operational procedures.
Review technical data CSA for process equipment during design, FAT, and installation phases.
Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations Teams to ensure a successful handover of design documentation and flawless project start-up.
Review red-line and/or as-built documentation.
Develop or review structural design procedures, basis of design, structural design specifications, and associated typical drawings, including factory blueprint electrical design.
Ensure full compliance with AFRY and client policies, regulations, and governance.
What You Bring:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
Professional registration preferred - Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer or equivalent.
Computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Fluency in English; additional languages, including Swedish, considered valuable.
10+ years of post-graduate experience in Advanced Manufacturing or similar industry.
Experience in designing industrial buildings according to European and Swedish codes and safety standards.
Proficiency in all project design phases, from concept to basic and detailed design.
Experience in brownfield and greenfield projects.
Hands-on experience in site-based engineering roles.
Familiarity with European and Swedish standards and regulations.
Experience in reviewing fabrication drawings.
Specific Skills:
Proficiency in drawing software, preferably AutoCAD.
Experience using structural analysis design software, such as Staad Pro or Robot.
Understanding of groundworks improvements.
Design expertise in various foundation types.
Design proficiency in steel and concrete structures.
Design capability for access platforms, ladders/stairs, industrial supports, gantries, and lifting rails.
Ability to interpret geotechnical investigations.
