You will be providing technical expertise, strategic planning and recommendations for new technologies and network applications in response to business needs. In practice, you will evaluate and design solutions that integrate with and enhance the network without jeopardizing its integrity. You will work together with Fortum colleagues and trusted external partners to meet the business and customer requirements. We are looking for a team member to join us in either Finland, Sweden or Poland.
Your duties and responsibilities include
- Collaborate with the business to design, deploy, develop and maintain functional and secure network technologies that match Fortum infrastructure needs
- You will apply complex design principles and methodology to ensure cost-effective and optimal use of resources and technology
- Perform analytical, technical and business value analysis work in the planning, design, installation and ongoing administration and management of Fortum data networks
- Provide cross-functional technical expertise and conduct network training on technical and practical levels
About you
In this role, on top of the theoretical in-depth knowledge of local- and wide-area data network design and architecture, also strong working knowledge is required.
To succeed in this role you would ideally have
- Bachelor of Science in Network Engineering with six or more years of relevant experience. (Proven technical experience may be substituted for educational requirement)
- Strong working knowledge of network requirements in production environments
- Strong knowledge, skills and hands-on experience with Checkpoint, Fortinet, HPE and Aruba network hardware, software, related protocols etc.
- Deep understanding of network security with solid working knowledge and related technical skills for mitigating security threats
- Strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems, network facilities, electrical, UPS, etc.
- Thorough understanding of IT processes and industry best practices.
- Ability to work alone as an individual contributor, as a technical lead and as a participant in a team environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Sense of urgency and ability to perform exceptionally under pressure
- Understanding of the emerging network architecture and technology trends like SASE and UZTNA
