AdressWe are looking for a Safety Manager responsible for our tissue production site in Lilla Edet. You will be responsible for providing a professional and comprehensive Health and Safety function that meets the legislation as well as business needs. In this position you also get the opportunity to be part of developing Edet Mill.
Essity Edet Mill is a tissue mill and international distribution center located in Lilla Edet 50 kilometers north of Gothenburg in Sweden. The mill has an annual capacity of approximately 100.000 ton of tissue. The mill consists of several production steps, including recycled fiber processing, steam central, logistics, wastewater treatment, papermaking and converting as well as several support functions. Edet Mill, with approx. 400 employees is characterized by advanced technology machine lines. The development of new technology, product upgrades and improvements is a continuous process.

The position as Safety Manager is located in Lilla Edet and part of the site leadership team. You will report to the Site Manager and have one direct report.
What you will do
- Responsible for Emergency preparedness and business continuity on site, including responsibility for ISO 45001, with responsibility for internal and external audits
- Development of site's Health and Safety strategy towards a mature culture using the systems and standards of internal and external benchmarking to guarantee continuous improvement in these areas, both operational and in executing projects
- Provide direction and support managers in the implementation and maintenance of Health and Safety
- Remain informed of the legal requirements and documentation and ensure that changes are implemented
- Ensure the necessary training related to the safety systems & standards
- Provide expert support to the Site manager to implement Essity's standards and the associated goals to secure and ensure that the site complies with laws and regulations as well as corporate standards and policies
- Support the organization in Incident Management and investigations aiming to provide a learning culture and avoid personal injury, damages and health risks
- Develop, coach and when appropriate lead the necessary forums to follow up status and drive improvements (e.g.. Safety Committee, Traffic Management Committee)
- Keep running the implementation of company's reporting platform
- Coach and implement Safety leadership programs on site to contribute to culture developments and continuous improvement, being actively involved and visible in the operations.
Who You Are
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
- Experience as Safety and Health Manager in a large production organization
- Proven leadership and coach experience within safety culture development and programs
- Experience with TPM is a big plus
- Excellent skills in the Swedish and English language, both written and spoken

You secure resources efficiently and have the ability to identify priorities in a structured way to achieve the organizational goals. Furthermore, you explain clearly and in a concise way what people have to do as well as understand how to motivate and develop individuals. Furthermore, you have the ability to modify your approach when faced with challenges and adapt your style of behavior to meet the needs of others.
