The Connected Network department is responsible for all partner-facing Zalando Logistics Solutions. By unifying and collaborating these services under a single umbrella, we provide a more holistic approach to deliver the optimal fulfilment solution to meet our partners' needs, and leverage common services to enable partner program growth.
As a Principal Frontend Software Engineer , you will be the architect in a head area of 2-5 engineering teams. Together with your peers organised in a principal community you will consult the teams in best practices and set the standards for future software projects by choosing the right technologies and solutions. You will benefit from the experience in a larger company with specialists organised in technical communities.

- As part of our Principal Engineering Community, you collaborate with other senior individual contributors to set engineering standards, guide decision-making for the technology landscape at Zalando via our Tech Radar .
- Working like a startup in an agile environment & taking ownership for the whole development cycle - from architecture design to testing to implementation & maintenance.
- 3 years of experience as a Staff Engineer / Principal Engineer in a fast and dynamic environment
- Thorough understanding of microservices and REST APIs as well as extensive experience with React, Typescript, Webpack, NodeJS, CSS/HTML and related technologies;
- Experience with micro front ends (single-spa or similar).
- Experience with proxy, reverse-proxy and api gateways is desirable;
- Experience with Authentication and Authorization systems such as Keycloak, Okta or other OpenID Connect solutions;
- Experience with Design Systems is a plus.
- Experience with AWS and Kubernetes is a plus.
- You have experience in full development cycle in an agile setting, including testing (manual and automated) and deployment to CI/CD systems
- You have sense of ownership and analytical thinking add to your excellent communication skills (fluent in written & spoken English is a must) and willingness to share knowledge within and outside the team
- You have good communication skills to work effectively with colleagues, moderate team meetings and find creative solutions to complex problems as a team.
- Previous experience in the Customer Portal domain is a bonus.
