Job summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Range Area Beds & Mattresses team in Älmhult, Sweden.You will be responsible for leading the Mechanical Design development for beds and mattresses.The ideal candidate will have experience in Mechanical Design Engineering and a passion for product development.

Responsibilities
• Develop the Mechanical Design of products with different materials and functions.• Ensure that mechanical requirements are met in the product design.• Create and maintain 3D and 2D documentation according to IKEA CAD standards.• Evaluate constructions and prototypes using simulation in the comfort lab.• Capture learnings, share knowledge, and communicate with other functions.• Contribute to exploring and deploying new innovations and materials.
Requirements
• Degree in Mechanical Design Engineering or experience in working with comfort material (foam, springs, textiles).• Experience with different materials and production methods.• Understanding of mass production and low-cost design.• Strong drive and ability to take initiatives.• Experience in product development.• Knowledge of Mechanical Design, geometric dimensioning, tolerancing, and 3D modeling.• Proficiency in CAD programs and product lifecycle management systems (e.g., Dassault SolidWorks, PTC Windchill).• Preferably, knowledge within production.
