Background
Do you want to make mobility more sustainable? Enter the multidisciplinary world of railways through a Master Thesis project at Alstom in Stockholm. Here we develop and deliver everything from Traction and Brake Systems, Train Control and Information Systems, Service Solutions. There is a multitude of engineering related challenges as well as some in other areas awaiting you.
Problem description and goals:
At Alstom in Stockholm, we have the following functions where you might be able to find your calling:
- Software testing with AI
- System on a chip design
- Organization efficiency and business case analysis for digitalization
- Creation of program dashboards with Microsoft BI
- Performance and operation of signalling systems
- Telecommunications public and private
- Cybersecurity
- Autonomous systems
- Machine-human communication and machine learning (AI tailored solutions)
- Sensor and sensor fusion technology
- Next generation regional railways
- Life cycle costs optimization
- Signalling, Control and Information Systems Engineering where the overall software and hardware is implemented in customer delivery projects.
The thesis projects could involve any of the following themes:
- Reliable communication systems, Track to user communication, autonomous solutions for train-car interaction / control theory, GPS and indoor positioning, obstacle detection with artificial vision, radar, lidar, machine learning diagnostics and sensing applications, embedded systems, systems engineering, dependable systems, simulation, modelling and data analytics.
In addition, we may also have openings in other non-engineering functions such as Project Management, Sales and Bids, Finance and HR.
