About this opportunity
We are looking for a Lead Developer with long experience working with Packet Core products, specifically the EPG and the PCG. We are looking for someone who can leverage extensive software development seniority to guide and support our developers and teams in user-plane architectural understanding and software development craftsmanship (with a focus on C) as a role model. You will collaborate tightly with the architect community to improve and enhance our offerings. You will continuously take on some of the most complex TRs in User Plane and you will ensure that the teams do refactoring of their code when you as Lead Developer deem it to be necessary.
What you will do
  • Write beautiful code in C and together with your team, develop features to integrate, test and document with quality.
  • Be Lead Developer for multiple teams.
  • Share your expert knowledge in software development craftsmanship including C-coding and IP protocols with the teams.
  • Take an active role in relevant community of practice.
  • Be the primary interface for architectural understanding for the team(s).
  • Conducted regular code reviews to maintain code quality and alignment with coding standards.
  • Together with the teams make decisions on code refactoring.
  • identify and propose improvements to the code, feature, and architecture.
You will bring
  • Significant understanding of the Gateway products and especially of the User Plane µServices.
  • An outgoing and driven personality with a will to make a change.
  • A passion for software development and a love for continuous experimentation.
  • Expert knowledge of C programming language and Linux.
  • Deep Architectural understanding of the User Plane µServices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, you enjoy digging into complex problems and collaboratively solving them with colleagues.
  • BSc or MSc level in Computer Science or the equivalent level of knowledge.

  • C for product implementation, and Java and Python for System Test.
  • L2/L3, Routing, 3GPP.
  • TCP, UDP, L2TP, TLS.
  • Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, Amazon EKS, OpenStack, VMware

Our products put high technical requirements on the team, including high-performance application development, low latency requirements, multi-threaded programming, embedded development, DPDK knowledge and framework design in the IP Connectivity competence area.
We develop in a Linux environment, and code is committed to Git repositories. We are proud of our modern Continuous Integration and Deployment frameworks using Jenkins with over 2500 commits per month and weekly pre-deliveries to customers.
