ABB Corporate Research Center in Sweden is located in Västerås, about 100 kilometers west of Stockholm. Together with our colleagues in other R&D centers we develop technologies for future products and services for ABB's core businesses.Reinforcement Learning (RL) is a powerful concept in artificial intelligence and machine learning. It has the potential to transform how we automate processes and control machinery in real-world applications like marine vessels, mining operations, and robots. The main goal of this internship is to contribute to the development to make RL practical for real world engineering of Industrial Systems.
Your responsibilities
- Utilizing your skills and experience in automation systems, you collaborate in challenging research projects and work with international ABB business units
- Integrate theoretical analysis, algorithm development, and simulation for Industrial processes
- Evaluate a range of RL algorithms to address selected challenges
- Generate prototypes of developed concepts with real business impact
- Following the best software development practices to ensure high quality deliverables
- Working and collaborating in a cross discipline and diverse team
- Sharing your experience and skills with other team members
Your background
- M.Sc. in Engineering of Data-intensive Intelligent Software Systems or similar
- Knowledge on neural networks and Reinforcement Learning
- Programming skills in Python or MATLAB
- Good problem solving and self-driven
- Good spoken and written English
- Interest in sustainable energy and automation systems is valuable
