Now you can shape the path towards fossil free livingFor our procurement department we're searching for 4 talented individuals to join us on our journey towards fossil free living. Individuals that challenge the way we think, lead us down new paths and want to contribute in the procurement process, a fundamental process for Vattenfall to reach our goals.

Each one of the trainee positions is unique, linked to a procurement department and a specific working location. This means you will work as a trainee in a procurement team but also get the chance to develop yourself, together with the other trainees, as a procurement expert in our International Procurement Trainee Programme.

Your role as an International Procurement TraineeNew Nuclear 

Next to your personal development in this unique opportunity, you will be enjoying one year of special training. Your trainee year will be filled with international meetups with your fellow trainees, stakeholders from different business units and other procurement teams. You will work on procurement assignments, switching between different procurement departments and you will be visiting our power plants and develop your personal development and procurement knowledge with a variety of trainings.  

The objective for this International Procurement Trainee Programme is to enhance our talent pool of procurement professionals. It is the target to employ young talented persons with an infinite development potential, drive and vast interest in a career in sourcing. The programme will offer you the focus and framework to develop towards a high performing procurement professional at Vattenfall. After the first year of traineeship you will become a regular employee.

Focus

  • The focus of the role is to become familiar and fluent in all aspects related to sourcing in preparation of a role as Buyer at Vattenfall. 

Your role as an International Procurement TraineeNew Nuclear 

  • Integrate fully into the local Procurement organization

  • Complete all necessary trainings

  • Participate in team development exercises

  • Successfully complete buyer entry-level assignments

  • Successfully present learnings and experiences to the Procurement Management Team

 Key responsibilities as a Buyer

  • Responsible for purchasing services and materials, taking into account cost-effective, timely provision for the company and taking into account the required quality

  • Develop RFQ, manage and maintain supplier documentation, coordinate supplier selection based on TCO. Liaise with requesters to drive spend through preferred suppliers

  • Interact with stakeholders to understand sourcing requirements and needs

  • Support and work closely with Sourcing Managers

 Key tasks as a Buyer

  • Support with tendering and negotiation of business needs as required (material/services) based on purchase requisitions

  • Ensure competition and safeguarding corporate interests, adhering to compliance and corporate guidelines

  • Work closely with the business to choose best options for goods and services to reach Vattenfall goals and objectives

  • Support with supplier management and maintenance of all essential documentation

Who are you?

You are our ideal Trainee Procurement – New Nuclear if you are a recent graduate with an academic degree and have maximum one year of work experience, or you graduate before September 2024. 

  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

  • Willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization

  • And of course, you identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe

  • Can work autonomously and with an entrepreneurial mindset

  • Organized, proactive and results oriented

The recruitment process
We welcome your application in English, including resume and cover letter no later than March 3rd 2024.  Selection period starts after the application period is closed with online tests followed by interviews in March/April. A final assessment is also part of the recruitment process and will take place in the end of April. The recruitment process will be finalized in May. The last step will be a pre-employment screening. Starting date of the International Procurement Trainee Programme will be September 2nd, 2024.
