As Director of Business Control for Northvolt Labs and Automotive you will bring a finance perspective to the full set of tasks, focusing on product development, process development, Capex project execution, manufacturing planning and follow up.
The position strongly supports both the structuring and steering of our product technology roadmap by supporting and optimizing different operational facilities while assuring alignment with our many customer & R&D projects.
Our current Campus consists of 1000 employees and is establishing itself as the most advanced battery centre in Europe with many ongoing and planned expansions. The current Business Control team consist of 3 employees, and you will lead and develop the team.
Our organisational setup is a matrix, and you will act both as the finance business partner to the Management team for NV Labs & the Automotive Team as well as being a part of the Northvolt group Business Control team.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Keep a clear-eyed perspective on financials, investments, profitability & working capital efficiency to secure long-term value creation.
- Lead and continuously refine processes related to business plan, budgeting & forecasting.
- Lead and refine all management. Reporting for the Business Unit including operational reporting, CAPEX-reporting, Customer Project reporting & key financial KPIs.
- Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, both as part of manufacturing, local leadership teams and the overall finance team at Northvolt.
- Act as a business partner to the entire R&D and industrialization organisation set up in Västerås keeping a holistic view of the entire area and making sure the business is delivering on Northvolts technology roadmap and by extension the entire Business Plan.
The person we are looking for is driven, structured and has a very strong commercial acumen and can understand very complex and technical business cases. You thrive in leading others, and dig-in where you see it is needed. You are used to, and enjoy, a high paced work environment and enjoy working with change and driving excellent processes.

We believe that you have:
- +10 years of experience in finance including production controlling positions. You have probably have worked in similar roles before, and also led teams to deliver such tasks and feel comfortable leading others.
- Sector-specific knowledge in manufacturing, or adjacent production industries,
- Confidence and ability to build strong and challenging working relations with Commercial and Technical teams.
- Communication skills and the experience needed to lead a cross-functional project team working on major undertakings.
- Relevant qualifications in Finance from a leading institution or other professional Finance qualification.
- Curious, commercial and technically minded with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Exceptionally good problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Solid language skills, including written and spoken English - Swedish is a plus.
- Personal qualities that we cherish are flexibility, sense of quality, friendliness, motivation to take on new challenges, grit and a sense of humour.
