In the Innovation Planning & Project Team, we are ready to put in the next gear of moving Innovation across IKEA and making us better together. In line with the rest of IKEA, we have decided to focus, simplify and concentrate going forward by putting the product in the center - with a full focus on the core of our assignments. We are now looking for a Capability Planning Leader to join our team. You will in the heart of Innovation at IKEA, always deliver highest value for IKEA in alignment with set business goals/ambitions
The Innovation Planning & Project Team purpose is to support Innovation across Inter IKEA, in robust portfolio planning, reporting and decision-making in line with set strategic goals. The Innovation Planning & Project Team is providing simplicity, transparency and visibility on the Innovation portfolio with full visibility on data including gaps and opportunities. This facilitates full strategic alignment, prioritizing and keeping track of the portfolio performance. The Innovation Planning & Project Team stands for planning, portfolio and portfolio management capabilities across Inter IKEA for our common innovation portfolio.
You would be part of a great team of project, portfolio and planning enthusiasts with various backgrounds, work in an environment with high pace and many stakeholders, manage constant changes as well as have the possibility to contribute to the transformation with high impact for IKEA while enjoying the ride together!
Some key responsibilities in this assignment will be (but not limited) as below:
  • Responsible for managing portfolios connected to Development & Innovation Networks (DIN), from planning to tracking performance according to the existing ways of working
  • Accountable for applying ways of working and lead DINs to define OKR's that contribute to strategic goals
  • Responsible for continuous development of portfolio management capability and connected level 2 capabilities defined to our Guide to Center of Excellence. This guide follows the IKEA Business Capability Model (IBCM)
  • Together with Business Performance & Support, enable monitoring, tracking, and reporting on plans and progress

In this context we are looking for a person to lead the portfolio management in one or several DINs. We believe you have deep knowledge and understanding of IKEA value chain, the process landscape, IKEA organization and the portfolio management capability. You have extensive knowledge about business planning and knowledge how to develop, define, plan, and execute a roadmap for portfolios to meet the business objectives. You are a fan of creating clarity through communication, working together with others to create business value and lead in a structured way. You get energy from translating strategy into action through planning, following up on progress and enabling teams to be at their best.
Your key capabilities are:
  • A very strong ability to lead work and teams toward common goals
  • A strong desire to collaborate across teams and functions to reach our common goals
  • Strong organizational and co-ordination skills, taking multiple sources of information and bringing them together
  • Strong analytical- and planning skills, tactical capability, clarity in communication
  • Has extensive interpersonal skills with the ability to build trustful relationships with colleagues of different seniority levels across the organization
  • Good understanding of the business complexity in IKEA with a strong belief in the role of data and technology as an integrated part of the business
  • Vast experience in product/project and portfolio management or similar roles

As a person, you can build good and strong relations between people, create a trustful working environment based on the IKEA values. You are organized and a self-starter and ensure that your deadlines are met. You work independently and in teams leading activities across organizations with clarity and confidence
