AdressWe are looking for a Senior Purchaser, Hydro to strengthen Fortum's Hydro Procurement team. As a Senior Purchaser, you will be working in the procurement team supporting our Hydro Generation business operating in both Finland and Sweden. You will have a key role in the hydro organization, working together with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement is in time, in cost and in quality. You will be sourcing deliveries related both to investment projects as well as to operations and maintenance of the hydro and thermal assets.
You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and identifying cost savings opportunities. Additionally, you will ensure that all procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and safety requirements. You will have an opportunity to form the ways and practice of the work. The primary location can be in any of Fortum's offices in Finland. We work flexibly in a hybrid model that adapts to both your professional and personal needs. The role includes travelling.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to achieve the best value for the company
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to support Hydro operations
- Ensure that procurement activities are executed in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety requirements
- Identify and implement cost savings opportunities across the procurement process
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Monitor procurement performance and provide regular reports to senior management
- Manage procurement-related risks and develop contingency plans as needed
About you
You have an academic degree in a relevant field, such as technology or business or have gathered strong experience during your career. You need to have strong collaboration and project management skills. Furthermore, you have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, proven negotiation skills, commercial thinking and the ability to create and execute strategies from scratch. We value experience related to either consulting or project procurement or project management. Previous experience in the MRO category (maintenance, repair and operation) is an asset. You can work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. In addition, you are fluent in oral and written Finnish and English. Knowledge of the Swedish language is a plus.
