IKEA Hotell is in the heart of IKEA, Älmhult. We have been here since 1964 and was built for IKEAs customer to stay a bit longer. Now, about 50 years later we are a business hotel with around 70 co-workers. We welcome guests from near and far. We act as the natural meeting place and social hub in Älmhult. Now, with greater capacity than ever we fully focus on the needs of our guests! We offer 254 hotel rooms, 5 conference rooms, large common areas, laundry room and gym. We serve both breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our mission is to make our guests feel at home while staying at IKEA Hotell.
Job description
In the role as receptionist, it's important for you to feel confident in taking initiative for customer contact. You like to maximize sales and profitability and to reach goals together with the rest of the team. You are flexible and open to changes and take great responsibility for us succeeding. You are passionate about guest service; you always strive to give the guests a positive experience at IKEA Hotell. In addition to this you also represent IKEA as a brand and a location, Älmhult. that has a great impact in the history of IKEA.
Our guests will visit us during weekdays and weekends. We are a 24-hour open service hotel. During this time, they expect us to be able to provide, besides excellent service, basic knowledge of IKEA history as well as guidance to Älmhult as a destination. When the hotel and restaurant are full of guests, they should be met by co-workers who love the extra pulse and the higher pace that comes with the job.
Your responsibilities will be:
  • Greeting all guests making sure a great experience every time
  • Guest check -in and check-out
  • Cash management
  • Guidance and support to conference guests
  • Answering guest queries and give recommendations, both over the counter but also over the phone and email
  • Individual booking requests and smaller group and conference bookings

We are Småland's largest hotel, however a familiar and small hotel at heart and we really like to work together and support each other across our departments. This means that you will get the opportunity to support and help your colleagues in the restaurant or other departments when needed.
Qualification
Truly great service is built on a genuine desire to please and satisfy the guest. If you have a service mind-set, you will understand the importance of what you do and how it impacts our guests.
Your personality is of great importance to us. You are service minded, sympathizing, outgoing, innovative, curious, stress resistant, a team player and have a genuine interest in greeting our guests. You are able to see possibilities instead of problems and act on each challenge with enthusiasm. We are looking for a co-worker that acts as an ambassador for IKEA, shares IKEAs values and greets our guests with a big smile!
You are used to working independently and dare to take your own initiatives and decisions as well as challenge existing ways of working in order for us to get even better. You must enjoy meeting our guests and is keen on satisfying their needs, even before it arises! You value the guests and their business, thinking, what else can I do to make this guest feel special? We all know traveling can be tiring, and full of unexpected events, so helping a guest to feel like they are coming home is very important.
As you will be part of a multicultural environment with both domestic and international guests, it is important that you speak and write fluently both in Swedish and English. Additional language skills are a merit. Experience in the hotel business and relevant education is a merit.
More Information
We are now looking for several new colleagues in our Reception Team for temporary employment during the summer, with various contract sizes 50-80%. We have shifting working hours and work both on weekdays and weekends - day shifts, evenings and nights. To apply for a job with us, you must be 18 years of age or older.
Some of the positions will start during spring to cover extra shifts and/or in case of sickness. We also see the need for covering extra shifts and sicknesses after the summer.
