Welcome to join our Global Product Development Team in Hillerstorp as our next Material Developer for Textiles.
As a Material Developer within textiles you will hold a key position in the soft goods development team, a team that support all the product development projects involving textiles. You will be responsible for development of fabrics and accessories in new development projects and maintenance projects with focus on Juvenile & Pet and Roof top tent products - from product initiation to ready for production. In new development projects you will act as the expert that give guidelines and recommendations when it comes to selection of textile materials. You will investigate new technologies in textile development in order to be able to propose different alternative solutions in different projects. Common factors you have to consider and evaluate are performance, compliance and cost.
You will be responsible for documentation of material specification and requirements for our textiles. Moreover, you will also participate in the development of test methods and codes related to textiles and analyze the results. In the role as Material Developer you will work towards many contacts, both within and outside the company such as product manager, industrial designer, CMF designer, pattern developer, design engineer, project manager, test engineer, sourcing and suppliers.
Your profile
You have an academic engineering degree within textile or similar. In addition to this you have a couple of years of work experience from development of textile products or products partly consisting of textiles.
We expect you to have experience working in PLM-system and have knowledge and experience when it comes to release of design technical document. You are experienced but at the same time hungry to further improve yourself in the field of material development of fabrics and accessories. You have a passion for sustainable textiles of the future and development of eco-friendly and resource-efficient textiles. To succeed in this role we believe you have high ability to present technical solutions and challenges, and able to adjust the way of communication depending on audience. We also expect you can balance between multiple tasks/priorities and still consistently meet deadlines. You are a self-starter and working well without guiding direction and able to set priorities with Thule's best in mind. Moreover you have great creative skills as well as analytical. You are fluent in English.
